filled burlap sandbag image

Burlap, 10 oz. weave, 100% natural jute bags.  Same filled dimensions and weight as above.          Note that these bags are not resistant to moisture or UV rays and biodegrade quickly, but
do lend themselves to wetting down for a more solid set-up.

       Prices:  $2.50 each (pick up)
$3.50 each delivered in Albuquerque metro area. (see "delivery terms" below)

Due to their limited shelf life, we don't keep inventory on these bags; they're filled as
orders come in.  Prepayment and reasonable lead time (depending on quantity) required.
roll of 4-point barbed wire
closeup of 4-pt galvanized barbed wire
Four-point galvanized 12 3/4 gauge barbed wire. When laid between courses, it
provides tensile strength to the structure & serves as a kind of "velcro" to bind the
bags together and keep them from shifting. Essential if you're building a retaining
wall (supporting lateral loads), or going higher than just a couple of feet.

Price: $60.00 for a full 1,320 foot roll, or $2.00 per ten-foot length (cut & coiled).
stand or crib for rolls of barbed wire dirt sifter to remove rocks and clumps

Barbed wire stand. Wood with metal pipe to support heavy barbed wire roll.
Allows controlled unrolling lengths of wire, while minimizing whiplash danger to
yourself & others. Easy to build... or buy one of ours. Does double-duty for bucking logs.
       Price:
$20.00

Dirt sifter. Hardwood frame and tautly-stretched, rubber-coated 3/8" wire mesh.  Approx.
26" x 36', fits over standard wheelbarrow. Great for removing rocks, roots, clumps, etc.
       Price: $20.00
tamper to tamp & compact earthbags

8" x 8" tamper, approx. 38-40" handle, for pounding & compacting bags (and foundations).
Styles may vary (including hardwood or fiberglass handle). Weight approx. 10 lbs.

Price: $25.00 and up (subject to change); or $5.00 per day with replacement deposit.

applying earth plaster by hand five-gallon bucket of earth plaster mix
Earth plaster mix, 5 gallons worth (dry!); just add water & mix. The ingredients -
finely sifted clay-rich dirt, sand, and alfalfa straw - are packed separately so you can
add more or less to customize your mix.  At your request, we'll throw in a packet of
cement mix at no extra cost. Covers about 27 sq. feet of smooth surface at 1/2" thickness
(less if it's your primary coat, you'll use gobs just to fill in the scalloped contours of the
stacked earthbags).  Recommended for basecoats only.  Click here for a discussion
of plastering in general & helpful links.

Quantity of items purchased, and the distance of delivery, may offset prices to a
greater or lesser degree.  Please call or write for an estimate.  Delivery charges

       Other Services:

We're not licensed contractors, but we might consider doing some laying for you
(low walls, planter boxes, etc.).  We're looking into developing partnerships
with people who can do, or help you with, the finish work (plaster, stucco, cob, etc.).
We also can provide some on-site consulting, and we're considering firing up
some workshops as we continue to grow.  Sign up for our mailing list !
